Cortex is a project-management tool run by Stax Labs. It's invite-only: you can only use it if someone running a project has invited you. This page explains, in plain words, what Cortex keeps about you and what it does with it.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, the profile picture Google shares. We don't receive or store passwords, and we can't see your Google email, files or contacts.
- What you put in: tasks, questions, comments, notes and other project details you or your colleagues add.
- Activity: a record of changes (who changed what, and when) so changes can be reviewed and undone.
How it's used
- To sign you in, show you the projects you've been added to, and notify you about work that involves you.
- The AI assistant: when you ask it something, the relevant project details are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce an answer. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- We don't sell your information, show you ads, or share it with anyone outside the services listed below.
Who can see your information
Only people on the same project, and the administrators of the workspace you were invited into. Guests from other organisations only ever see the projects they've been added to.
Services we rely on
- Supabase: stores the data and handles sign-in.
- Vercel: runs the Cortex website.
- Anthropic: powers the AI assistant.
- Google: only if you choose “Continue with Google”, to confirm who you are.
Keeping and deleting it
Your information is kept while you're part of a project. If you're removed, you lose access straight away. To have your account and personal details deleted, email us and we'll do it.
